We are thrilled to unveil the latest development in our journey towards academic excellence. The H. Hovnanian Family Foundation has extended its support to the Kapan Math Club, an institution nestled in the heart of the city of Kapan, the most populous city in the province of Syunik.
Founded in 2020 by Garik Avetisyan and a group of former International Math Olympiad winners, the club aims to nurture the mathematical talents of students in Syunik and help them excel in the Republican Math Olympiad.
The Kapan Math Club has flourished since its inception, with over 130 students attending lessons in Kapan and Goris. The club, guided by nine teachers, including five previous International Math Olympiad winners, has achieved remarkable success in the Math Olympiad, earning certificates and setting records in the Syunik region.
Co-founder Garik Avetisyan, hailing from Kapan, initiated the club to address the lack of quality education and tutoring opportunities for talented youth in Syunik compared to regions near Yerevan. The Kapan Math Club became a beacon of hope, proving that geographical location does not limit students' potential. Encouraged by early successes, the club expanded to Goris and plans to reach Sisian and Meghri with a long-term vision for further expansion.
As the Kapan Math Club grows, sustaining its financial burden has become a challenge. To continue offering on-site lessons in Sisian and Meghri, the club requires additional financial support.
