Armenian Fellowships
The Foundation envisions Fellowships to achieve a specific objective, to produce a report or other similar product like a presentation or research paper.
Fellowships will be granted to individuals of Armenian descent, or directly to the registered institutions with which they are affiliated, in Armenia and the United States.
General Information
Program Parameters, Criteria & Selection Process:
The Foundation believes that supporting Armenian talents, innovators, entrepreneurs, thinkers and creators in having a presence in prestigious international events will have a positive impact not only on the individual’s personal growth but also on the overall development of Armenia
The Fellowship grants will be awarded on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis to students, professors, NGO leaders, artists, athletes, academics, public health workers, etc. for the purpose of achieving a specific objective, producing a report or other similar product like a presentation or research paper. The aim is to foster professional exchange among participants, scholars, researchers, artists, public health specialists, change-makers, community leaders, scientists and athletes, by participating in a competition or exhibition, or presenting at a conference or seminar;
Applicants will be considered based on academic achievement and/or work experience, financial need, third-party recommendations, and evidence of the individual’s motivation, standing, character, ability and potential drawn from these recommendations.
Fellowship requests will be reviewed by Foundation staff, who are responsible for confirming eligibility and checking references, and submitting recommendations to the Board for approval.

Seminars and professional conferences

For academicians, think tank employees, researchers, NGO leaders to attend conferences germane to their area(s) of expertise and/or study for the purposes of giving a lecture, presenting a white paper at a university, or attending a seminar or professional conference to present.

For hiking/ecotourism NGOs to present at a conferences on trail stewardship, best practices, sister city trails, etc.

For public health specialists to present at the best practice seminars and conferences in order to bring back new ideas and implementation strategies to their communities.

Competitions

Youth ranked chess players to attend invitationals/competitions for advancement

Spelling bee champions to compete in nationals or internationally

Mock trial team at local university advances to next round of competition

International exhibitions

Artists to attend exhibitions / display their works if accepted into competitions like biennales or other opportunities for increased exposure

In addition to completing the Armenian Fellowship Application Form, applicants must submit proposals that include:

Fellowship grants are available to students and non-students alike, including professors, non-profit leaders, artists, athletes, academics, scientists, public health professionals and other individuals who have been invited as speakers, presenters or competitors in academic, educational, cultural and athletic events.

Applicants for fellowship grants will be notified of a decision within 30 days of submitting a fully completed application.

No, although fellowship grants will be awarded on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis, we prefer to limit each applicant to just one submission at a time.

There is no deadline per se for submitting an application for a fellowship grant. Applications are accepted all year long and reviewed on a rolling basis as they are received. However, they will only be considered if the event is at least 60 days from the date a completed application is received by the Foundation. If the 60-day advance requirement is not met, applications will be considered ineligible.

Yes, those who have not been previously awarded a fellowship grant are welcome to reapply.

The range of fellowship amounts is wide, with the average size of the grant ranging from a few hundred dollars up to a maximum of $20,000.

Eligible expenses covered by our fellowship program include: attendance/registration fees, meals, airfare travel, local transportation, and hotel.
